JD SWANGUEN TAKING CRANKWORX DUAL

Opening day of Kokanee Crankworx 2008 saw the Telus Dual Slalom. After the most competitive Dual Slalom at Kokanee Crankworx, JD Swanguen won the top spot on a technical, damp course. First place was open for grabs after favorites such as Cedric Garcia, Andrew Neethling and Dan Atherton were eliminated in earlier rounds.

This course required constant adjustments to master. The weather forced athletes to be cautious to keep on track. The course was difficult and held up well in wet conditions thanks to the great design work of the designers.

The Telus Dual Slalom, which was back at Kokanee Crankworx for its second year, was a huge success with big crashes, high speed action and a friendly course layout. It was a head-to-head format that saw riders ripping through tight Berms and pumping through rhythm sections.

JD Swanguen won the Pro Men category, Nico Vink was second, Chris Herndon was third, and Corey Warren was fourth.

JD was relentless throughout the night. It started to rain and I knew I had to keep my head down and not lose sight of the goal to win.

Anneke Beerten was first in the Pro Women category. Rachel Atherton came second. Fionn Griffiths was third. Kathy Pruitt was fourth.
